The Land of the Giant Bugs

It's time to share more proof that I am an amazing dog. One day not to long ago, the only other person awake in the house who was not working on something was 10 year old Randy who was busy watching some TV show. I don't know what it was, but I suspect it may have been Amazing Animal Videos in Animal Planet. So I started calling Randy, he's just a kid, so he went& told mom (Kim) that "Suzy is freaking out". Kim had to translate for me, what I was saying was "Hey, Randy! Come out here with me!"

 

So Randy came out and we had a great time. I showed him how cold my water was in the shade (very refreshing) and we played under the tree and then I showed him the "Giant Bug" .

 

Honestly, in my 5 years I have never seen anything like it. It was huge, bigger than the kids hands with transparent wings and a big long grub like body. Finally Randy understood why it was so important he come outside! Normally I would not have cared about this mystery bug, but it was in my afternoon napping place!

 

I sent Randy into the house to tell Kim about the giant bug, I could hear the doubt in her voice as she headed out to look at it. And then she saw it, in all its hideous glory. She said she didn't know what it was either. She said it looked like a moth, but it has clear wings. Weird. It looked dead, so she poked it gently with a stick. That's when Pat looked out the window and asked it what it was. She said she was not sure, but it was almost as big as her hand and looked like a giant fly or moth. Then she said, "Whatever it is, it's still alive because it moved when I poked it".

 

I was stunned! I perked my ear up and looked at it, then I looked at her and decided she was not kidding. I said "that's easy to take care of" and I walked over to it and bite it once on the head. Then I looked at Kim and said, "Well, it's dead now!". She started laughing & I wagged my tail. Pat asked what happened and Kim told him that after she said it was alive I went over and bit it on the head. By now Randy was back outside. Pat said it was not funny, but Kim Randy & I all agreed, it was really very funny.

 

Later that day Randy immortalized my adventure by drawing a picture of me as Dogzilla killing the Moth King that was destroying a city. I'm hoping Kim gets it scanned in & posts it to my blog for me because it's a great picture, after all, I'm in it.

 

Well, I've gotta go, it's my nap time & I need my beauty rest.
